Bandinfo
"Before the RAMONES, there was nothing" a rock-critic once said. For any RAMONES Fan, and there are loads of them, this sentence is a true statement. The dissapointment must have been great when the band retired on the 6th of August 1996 officially from the stage. Any hopes of a renunion were shattered after the demise of our heroes Joey, Johnny and DeeDee. So when there was nothing before the RAMONES there can only be nothingness afterwards........ right?
Not quite - because firstly the music of our heroes is more alive than ever. And secondly there exist preferably long-haired, sneaker- and leather jackets wearing Freaks who have nothing better to do than playing RAMONES-Songs as true to original as ever possible. Counted among those weirdoz are the four of the RÄMOUNS, whose bandname is not by accident a phonetically germanized version of RAMONES. Not only do they play RAMONES-Songs true to original, but much, much more: They look exactly like them and deliver the original stage-show with everything, including the Pinhead and GABBA GABBA HEY sign. The Setlist ranges from, how could it be any different, classics like Blitzkrieg Bop via Sheena is a Punk Rocker to Pet Semetary and I believe in Miracles - quasi once across (almost) all records.
For all true RAMONES-Fans, who feel like celebrating with four "Birds of Feathers" the best tracks of one of the greatest Rock 'n' Roll Bands ever, the RÄMOUNS exist.
All true RAMONES-Fans, who have missed them live on stage will at least get a little idea of what they have missed.
As of 31st of December 2010 the Rämouns eventually - 14 years after their idols - quit the Ramones-Stage forever. May now others carry on the Ramones-Flame and keep memories alive.
The Rämouns were:
Lemmy Rämoun | - as Johnny Ramone |
